I’ve been thinking quite a bit about the power of gratitude. I’ve been giving a lot of talks lately, and the more I speak about gratitude, the more I realize how much I believe in its power – like down in my cells.
As a kid, pretty much the only time I thought about being thankful was on Thanksgiving. As I got older, I graduated to realizing how important it is to be regularly grateful for all my blessings. Then, years later, after I’d crashed and burned painfully a few times at a few different things, I developed the inner-knowing that true gratitude is in being grateful for absolutely everything. All of it. The good, the bad, and the ugly. As hard as it is.
All experiences serve us purpose, and all are teachers that guide us on our path.
Lately, I’ve been reflecting on the gratitude I feel for being imperfect. It may sound strange, but when we not only embrace our imperfections – but feel GRATEFUL for them – they magically turn into this super powered energy of self-acceptance and self-love.
It’s an incredible transformation – to deeply see our own imperfections as part of our beauty – part of what actually makes us the kind of perfect we’re meant to be – flawed beings who learn, grow, and blossom through being unique, imperfect, and wonderfully human.
Friends, I just want to tell you, right now and always, how amazingly beautiful you are.
Love,
Kristi
